Hello friends, Happy Fall! The temperature in Chicago dropped significantly in the last few weeks, I had no choice but start pulling out my winter clothes, and that’s when I realized my closet is missing a key component, comfy and chic sweaters. I’ve always been a blazer and jacket kind of girl, so I don’t own that many sweaters. Also as I mentioned before, I am a 100% quality over quantity. I live in the city, storage space is scarce, so I always make sure I purchase staple pieces that can be styled in various ways. Lucky for me, I attended a fabulous Brunch and Blog party at Shop Marcus, an amazing local boutique that offers a full range of curated brands of clothing, accessories and home decor. Shop Marcus graciously gifted me an amazing ivory balloon sleeve sweater from Frame Denim, and I could not be happier. It’s simple, chic, comfortable and super versatile. So I pulled together a few of my favorite looks and had so much fun shooting with my girl Hannah.
{1} Girly Chic. I have a confession, I used to always think that maxi skirts only look great on slender and tall girls, but I was wrong. Since I started blogging, I follow quite a few petite bloggers and saw them pull off the maxi skirt so well, I thought, what the heck, I’m just going to give it a shot and found this gorgeous Zara Polka Dot Maxi Skirt, I think it’s the perfect match for the Shop Marcus Sweater. {2} Holiday Glam With the holidays approaching, I am going back into my closet to dig for some of the old glam pieces that I never got to wear. For the second look, I wanted to do something more fun to wear to a date night, girl’s night out or casual holiday parties. I found this white feather skirt from H&M from years ago, and I think it instantly spiced up the look. of course you can’t do a winter white outfit without some white boots and these Zara Boots are the perfect match.
For those super chilly nights, it’s easy to warm up with a simple Teddy jacket. I’m absolutely loving this Aritzia jacket for the extra pop of color and warmth
{3} Work It! The magic of this white sweater is in the balloon sleeves, it goes with whatever look you are going for. I ditched the glitzy statement jewelries and switched to my Dior Pearl Earrings. I paired the sweater with a Camel Colored Wool Pants, Valentino Pumps, the look instantly became work appropriate. Add a Long Wool Coat with Fur Collar, you will look and feel like the boss lady you’ve always been!
{4} Leather Baby! I’m always cold, and finding warm pants for the winter is a must. Finally I caved and bought of pair of Leather Pants and it’s one of the best investments for your wardrobe, it keeps your legs warm, it gives you the slimmer silhouette instantly, and it pairs with the White Sweater so well. You can accessorize with a Cozy Scarf , some Simple Black Pumps and you are ready to hit the town. If you are not a high heel person, put on some simple Sneakers, you got yourself a casual yet polished look.
